Death Knight Outland Gear Guide: 62-63

by on November 17, 2008

Sorry I’ve skipped a day in posting this.  I’ve been grinding the heck out of my own DK to reach 68 as well.  Time to take a break and update the guide. Continuing on!

Now that we’re level 62 you should have most of your Zangarmarsh quests out of the way.  If you stop to do every single quest in the zone you’ll probably be a tad higher.  I’ve found that when I’m leveling, things seem to go faster when I do “most” of the quests in that area and then hit a new town.  Doing so will give you a bunch of quest at the new quest hub that you can probably bang out quicker then if you were to ping pong back and forth in the zone trying to finish everything.  The majority of these items you’ll find in Terrokar.

-Level 62-

Weapons – At this stage, the Zangarmarsh Claymore is your best 2H weapon and your Hellfire Reputation 1H’s should still work for you in the 1H category.  The claymore is available to you once you’ve finished Now That We’re Friends…  This quest is only available to you after you have done a few Sporeggar quests to improve your faction enough for this quest (Friendly).

Amulets – If your into shopping on the AH, be on the lookout for a Pendant of Cunning which is a world drop.  More then likely you’ll just want to finish The Settis Offensive quest and grab a Choker of Bloodied Feathers

Cloak – By questing you can get a Cloak of Grasping Talons from Veil Shalas: Signal Fires, but just as good is the Dark Cloak of the Marsh that comes from finishing the Coilfang Reservoir instance quest Lost in Action.  A slightly better cloak can be found as a world drop called Shroud of Frenzy.

RingsHeirloom Signet of Valor is available from the solo quest The Shadow Tomb, and the Nexus-Stalker’s Band is available from A Personal Favor

Helm – Our first upgrade to the Helm slot is the Helm of Lupine Ferocity which comes from the alliance quest The Elusive Ironjaw or the horde quest Welcoming the Wolf Spirit.  The horde quest baffles me though…they are reuniting with the wolf spirits…by slaying a ton of them.  *Shrug*

Legs – If you got a buddy blacksmith, now is when he can craft you a pair of Fel Iron Plate Pants

Wrists – Our first upgrade to the wrists slot is the Eagle Engraved Bracers.  These are found in the Veil Lithic: Preemptive Strike quest.

-Level 63-

Weapons – If you’ve been wanting to upgrade your 1h, now you can finally equip the world drop Axe of the Legion.  I used to use this as the “slow offhand” for my shammy back when duel windfury’s were all the rage.

Legs – If you’ve been working your way through the underbog, Swamplord Musel’ek may just have droped you a pair of Greaves of the Iron Guardian.

Trinkets – Two more trinkets are yours for the taking.  Terokkar Tablet of Precision for completing Torgos! and the Ancient Draenei War Talisman for completing The Vengeful Harbinger.

Waist - Smart shoppers should keep their eyes peeled for a Girdle of Siege on the AH…its a nice upgrade to anything we’ve seen thus far.

That’s it for now, I’ll have another two levels for you tomorrow.  Hopefully you aren’t out leveling my guide as it gets released.  Once all is said and done I’ll combine everything into one easy to find post/guide/page and archive it.

Actually for at least lvl 62, the Hellreaver polearm is better then the 2h weapon you listed. It's a drop in Ramps, check in to it. =]

Great guide I did this with my resto druid, but of course for tanks and healers we have to be much better geared before raiding than dps does. You should at least try to get all epics/blues before starting raids if you don't want to have crap dps.
