Mini game….which one of these paraphrases did blizzard NOT say.

(HINT: you don’t need a hint, it’s the one that’s  100% false that I made up to show how stupid Blizzard’s logic is)

[poll id="7"]

So yeah, Blizzard…..What’s up with that?

I don’t get a title for having a job? Oh noes …. now I want a title for having killed the most murlocs ever!

I still like the idea of titles :) I would like to see some for really obscure achievements so I can …. oh wait … I’ll do the one for Fishing. Nobody will do that *g*

They never said no mounts. They said no flying mounts, which they have stuck to.

@Yashima I have no issue with them giving out titles. Nor do I mind them really rewarding someone for reaching the level cap first. What I do have a problem with is how they said on at least two separate occasions that they didn’t want players just hitting the level cap asap to be rewarded. These titles seem to do simply that.

@Drotara yeah your right, was tired and typin fast :)

@Idahoe oh man….Infinite Grief, I hope that title never comes to be.

My new mission is to be the first mage on my server to hit 80!! The Archmage title must be mine! lol.

I really like a lot of the new titles but they need to be opened up to more then just one person.
I also still believe the pvp titles need to come back.

If titles are opened up to more people they are more worthless.

For them to have real value, they need to be beyond the realms of possibility for most of us.

I’m happy with my current titles, although I’d like conqueror as well, I think I’ll leave these northrend titles to the unemployed.

TBH I have seen the competition, there is no point trying. Someone on your server has their aquisition of those titles planned out to the nth degree, and will be playing round the clock until they have achieved them.

Unless you can compete with that, why bother ?

@Mae Yes those titles are tempting. Would love to sport “Aurdon the Forsaken”. But I’d like to see a title like that go to anyone who would have reached exulted with the Undercity and not just “first undead to 80″

@Juggz I think the old pvp titles need to come back too in some shape or form. They could treat them like the old system and make you spend honor points to simply buy them. No harm in that…spending honor on a silly title. Also if they want to make them even more like the old system they could cause them to rot if you don’t keep paying “honor tax” on keeping your title.

@Zupa 100% agree. There needs to be some way to honor people with a title and yet not make it available to everyone. “Scarab Lord” is the first one I can think of that makes me truly amazed when I see someone with it. But…simply being “first to 80″ isn’t a good system in my opinion. It’s simply put in place for those “grind heads” to feel a sense of accomplishment that other people won’t share a few weeks down the road. So I guess that’s the one redeeming factor, only a few of these titles will be given out so its not like an entire server rushing to 80 to unlock death knights.

I agree with Juggz, it’s dumb only one player will be able to get those titles. Just like the old R14 titles, it will go to the player with most friends willing to share the same account and play 24/7.

In my experience, the “Grind Head” players typically are, well, excellent players.

The first person on Duskwood to reach 70 was a druid named “Axelrod”, and he is a server wide celebrity. Literally anyone who participates seriously in the server wide community has heard of him, or knows him. He’s a leading member of one of Duskwood’s cutting edge raiding guilds, and also handles the recording of server wide progression on the realm forums.

This is not uncommon. I’ve known no less than seven Scarab Lords in my time, and all of them were intelligent, skilled players who used correct spelling and impeccable grammar.

Yeah, they devote a lot of time to the game, but these people aren’t jackasses or anything. They’re simply powerful, noticeable members of the community, kinda like a celebrity, but one that actually does useful things.

@Horns well I’m not saying that no title should go to one person alone. I do believe some people should have something that sets them apart.

@Euripedes I hope I didn’t come off as saying that all people who obtain these titles are going to be losers with no life. Looking back on my comments I think I probably came close to saying that. My entire point of this post was to point out how Blizzard had said on a few occasions that “its not about being first to 80″. These titles apparently say it is. There is no doubt in my mind that those who were these titles will indeed have skill. And they probably deserve these titles. I just wanted to point out how what Blizzard said in past seems to differ from what these titles represent.

I think it kind of sucks only one person will be able to obtain these titles. I would love to get the Archmage or Forsaken titles but its never gonna happen. I just do not have the amount of time some people have. I work 6 days a week 9 hours a day and then have a girlfriend, family, and pets to take care of. There is no way I can compete with the 15 year old that is homeschooled and can play 15 hours a day.
Are there any other titles that will be available to anyone? Like anyone will be able to kill “X” amount of “Y” to get “Z” title. I hope so, I do like titles, it will just take me longer than the average person to get them.

@Shrinkedge Well the grand master titles do apply to more then just one person. Also there are reputation titles. Ambassador is one given to someone who has reached exalted with the five core faction city reps. This was at a direct response to someone who requested it. I’m sure if you have some great ideas, posting on the official forms might grab the attention of a Blue. Its worked before right?
