I didn’t make a post about the Blizzard Authenticators yet because everyone else seemed to have covered everything I would said anyway and then some. I will say that I did order one. I’ve never been hacked and I’m very careful about the known causes of account hacking so I wasn’t sure about getting one of these right away. I was browsing the store trying to figure out shipping and one thing led to another (that another being me pulling out my credit card). That was on Monday I believe. Two days later I check up on the store and they have officially sold out. Not sure if this is because they didn’t make enough or perhaps they didn’t foresee this kind of demand (doubtful) but as of now, if you didn’t get one, you’ll have to wait.
Now I’m wondering about exploiting the craze and hitting up E-bay.

I have wondered if the key could be a double edges sword. Like lets say an account hacker uses a key they bought to get someones account under their thumb. According to blizzard, the person with the authenticator is the one who is in the right.

Well I think personal information and security questions do trump all when it comes down to who owns the account. Blizzard did say that you can “un-attach” a BlizAuth from the account but you’d have to contact customer service.
